“River People Shuttling Your Vehicle”

Our story

My name is Mike Baird. I’ve lived with my wife Kathie and family in Wallowa County, Oregon since 1987. I came to Wallowa County to teach high school at Enterprise High School and enjoyed a 32 year career at EHS. My experience prior to teaching was as a practicing forester performing contracts for the government and private timber owners, with Boise Cascade as a client through most of the 1990's. After Boise Cascade sold their timberlands, I started a new summer career as a river guide on the Snake River in Hell’s Canyon, the Salmon River in Idaho, and the Grande Ronde River here in northeastern Oregon. I have owned a raft since 1977, and enjoyed many different rivers in the West. In 2024, I could not find anyone to provide me a shuttle on the Grande Ronde for a private trip, so last year I decided to start Grande River Shuttle Service.  I understand the stress that shuttling your vehicle can cause. My aim is to provide a fair, honest, and trustworthy shuttle for you as you enjoy this beautiful corner of Oregon, Washington, and Idaho.  See you on the river!
